Bassano del Grappa

Ciao! The weather in Italy is getting hot! I say this but most Italian people are still wearing coats and scarves but I am over-heating! The sun was out and it was the perfect weather for a day out.

We caught the train to Bassano del Grappa, a city in north Italy, it’s know for it’s very old, wooden bridge over River Brenta. That may sound boring, but the city is full of charm and makes for a really chill day out.

We explored the town, taking way too many photographs and chatting about everything and anything. You can get to the riverside by crossing the wooden bridge, and it’s nice to just sit by the river and soak up the sun.

Bassano del Grappa is very quaint and small, it doesn’t have loads to do but is perfect for a nice, relaxed day. There is the tower to go up which is a lot of stairs and when you get to the very top there is the tiniest corridor to go up which me and my friend had to practically bend in half to go up and down, it wasn’t the most pleasant.

But, the view and the top was worth it, you could see the mountains in the distance and all of the neighbouring towns, it was amazing, definitely worth the dodgy little staircases.

If you are every visiting northern Italy, I’d definitely recommend stopping by, there’s no tourists and you get a feel of a proper Italian town, it’s certainly a hidden gem of northern Italy.

Ciao!
